Industrial sites in Russia - Oleg Savelyev and Rustam Minnikhanov visited the SEZ “Alabuga”

“Comfortable logistics and serious automotive industry players” – this is how the Special economic zone “Alabuga” was briefly described at the meeting with the automotive components suppliers held on May 26^th in the administrative and business center of the SEZ “Alabuga”.

Visit to the Special economic zone of two Advisory Board Chairmen on behalf of the Deputy Russian Federation Minister of the Economic Development Oleg Savelyev and the Tatarstan Republic President Rustam Minnikhanov for meeting with automotive components manufacturers was an important step in recruitment of new investors.

The delegation of the automotive components suppliers was represented by 17 companies, mostly from Turkey. The Turkish delegation was headed by the Association of Automotive Components Manufacturers. As it was noted during the meeting, the visit, without any doubt, contrubite to establishing serious partnership relations between Turkish companies and SEZ “Alabuga”. The participation of the Tatarstan delegation and Russian automakers in the conference, held in Turkey in 2010, was also an integrive part of the upcoming cooperation.

The automobile market of Turkey took off in 60’s; it was the time of first primitive assembling in the country. Lately the situation in the industry has substantially changed in several decades: gradually utility production was fixed, technology itself improved. Now the Republic of Turkey annually produces up to 1.8 million automobiles. This information was provided by the Turkish delegation members. It should be noted that the Turkish suppliers are well-aware of the automotive industry of Russia and their visit to the SEZ “Alabuga” can be regarded as readiness for localization on the territory of Russia.

According to Oleg Savelyev, the suppliers’ visit to the SEZ is one of the signs of success defined by the localization policy in the country. The SEZ “Alabuga” may become potential platform perfectly combining new condition of the assembling regime with specific business incentives existing in the SEZ. "The way, the Government of the Russian Federation has chose for the development of the automobile industry - is the right one," - he added.

As Rustam Minnikhanov  put it, Tatarstan Republic is the leader in rubber and polymer processing used in the automotive industry. A direct access of all the necessary resources can become determinative factor for choosing the SEZ “Alabuga” as an industrial site. "We are seriously focused on the development the Special economic zone “Alabuga” and, therefore, ready to create comfortable conditions for our investors ", - he concluded.
