“This is the future” – Turkey’s leadership about Alabuga Polytech

Burak Dağlıoğlu, President of the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, visited Alabuga Special Economic Zone.

“It is really efficient,” Dağlıoğlu did not hide his emotions, having a tour and observing the special economic zone’ infrastructure. As part of the business visit, the delegation headed by the President of the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey visited the Alabuga Special Economic Zone on April 18.

The management team was shown Turkish production facilities – one of the key residents of the Alabuga SEZ, among which Kastamonu, MDF, HDF and laminated floor coverings manufacturer; Şişecam Trakya Glass Rus is flat glass producer, Coşkunöz Alabuga is a manufacturer of stamped sheet metal parts for light-duty and commercial vehicles.

The personnel training system and the dual-study program at Alabuga Polytech garnered significant attention. During the visit, guests were given a tour of the educational center and state-of-the-art laboratories. Here, under the expert guidance of mentoring engineers, college students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The head of the Investment Office was notably impressed by this approach, recognizing the human resources potential of Alabuga. Furthermore, they personally engaged with the students, offering words of encouragement and wishing them success.

“Really unique educational center. You have made big steps in education and training. This is the future!” shared his impressions Burak. In addition, the guests visited the administrative and business center and met with Timur Shagivaleev, CEO of Alabuga SEZ.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the invitation extended to us,” the Turkish delegates conveyed. “Our sincere thanks go out to the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan for their gracious hospitality.”

During the conversation, the guests also noted that, despite the fact that the models of Tatarstan and Turkey are the same in building special economic and industrial special zones, Alabuga has a lot of interesting approaches that were not thought out by specialists from Turkey.

“In particular, we found the idea of constructing buildings for manufacturing companies by the development team of SEZ itself interesting. We believe, that this experience could provide valuable insights and learning opportunities,” commented Dağlıoğlu.

SEZ Alabuga is a full–cycle partner providing the best engineering, construction, human resources and social infrastructure. The territory of the special economic zone includes about 40 unique import–substituting industries, leaders in their industries. The total investment volume in 2023 amounted to 169 billion rubles, more than 16 thousand jobs were created, and the residents’ revenue in 2023 reached 179 billion rubles.
